The Dickinson County Sheriff’s office is a professional law enforcement agency that offers services to the public focused on, detention facility management and inmate care; and general law enforcement duties focused on community safety, security and service for rural residents and communities.
The Sheriff's Office performs many functions, including the following: civil process service (summons, subpoena, warrants); Vehicle (VIN) inspections; copies of police crime reports; fingerprinting for licensing purposes and concealed carry permits; registering of offenders (offender registration); traffic law, criminal law and resolution enforcement; crime and drug investigations; community involcement activities (faith & blue, fishing with first responders); Law Enforcemnt Against Drugs and Violence (L.E.A.D.) curriculum; school liaison deputy; citizen compliments/complaints; crime and drug investigations; inmate care and safety (inmate mail instructions; inmate messaging, video, online and on-site visitation; visitation hours; booking search; inmate account/fund management; bail and bonding of inmates).
