The Abilene Public Library provides free library resources to residents of Abilene, Dickinson County, and the other counties in the North Central Kansas Library System. Library services include books, audio books, movies, puzzles elibrary, computers, wifi, printing, faxing, scanning, notary, proctoring, and free programs for all ages. Meeting space is also available. Need a warm or cool place for a bit? Reference help and databases available. Need to use a computer to fill out an application or type up a resume? Skills training and practice tests are also available on our website from the State Library of Kansas. Don't forget about our storytimes and summer and winter reading programs. Also visit our free Puzzle Exchange! The Library provides a selection of Large Print Books, information on Kansas Talking Books for the Disabled, and platforms for ebooks where font sizes can be changed. We make deliveries to Nursing homes though our Books on Wheels program. The Friends of the Library Book Sale room has books for $.50-$1.00 and there are often free books on the free shelf as well. Story time is offered all year long. Programs for all school aged children take place during the summer. Look for our special Saturday morning exploration stations. Coloring pages and puzzles are available for grown ups. There is a teen area for studying and a nintendo switch. Regular programs for adults including noontime documentary showings.
